My name is Claire and I am an aspiring sports journalist and producer.

I am 25 years old and was born and raised in London before spending my undergraduate years in Cambridge studying French and Spanish. As part of my degree I had the opportunity to spend a year abroad which I split between working in Cádiz and studying in Nice. Having thoroughly enjoyed the experience of living in new countries, I wasn’t quite ready to settle down in London so I set off looking for a new adventure.
I have always been an avid sportswoman and have spent my life competing across Gymnastics, Athletics and Netball and thus sport has always held a very special place in my heart. Having graduated from Cambridge, I turned my mind to deciding what career path I wanted to pursue and despite not having one particular direction set in stone, I just knew I wanted it to lead me to the sports industry. So I choose to take a leap and once again set out on a journey abroad.
Currently based in Madrid, I am now doing a Masters in Sports Journalism and Communications at the Graduate School of Real Madrid. I have had an incredible eight months here experiencing the industry from the inside out. Over the course of my time studying there, I have tried my hand at written, radio and tv press, communications, commentating, marketing and, production and have enjoyed every second.
This blog acts as a record of some of my experiences here in Madrid and also as a way of seeing my own growth and improvement throughout the months. And hopefully, by the end of it, it will have led me closer to finding that exact direction I want to go in and a new goal to work towards.
Thank you for reading and joining along on this journey, I hope you enjoy it too!
